To Hell with City Life
Well, I’ve had enough of city life – where hi-tec is the go
and you need to now be wary of each scamming so and so.
For you can't trust anyone these days or any message sent.
And I’ve even read instructions too – but God knows what they meant.
So, I guess I’ll spit the dummy now and head off down the track
and I’ll tell you now a secret - I’ve no plans of coming back.
I’ll be in the open spaces way out where the rainbows end
and the last road fades to nothing and the country is your friend.
In the city we are ruled now by computers of all kinds
and there’s no way of escaping, and they’re messing with our minds.
So, they say we must be vigilant, well I’ve got news for you,
I am packing up tonight old friend - and then I’m shooting through.
I will leave behind this madness that infests this city now
and try picking up the traces that I left behind somehow.
Passwords won’t be needed - just a billy and a mug of tea
and you’ll find me camped out somewhere, neath a shady gimlet tree.

Love it - can I come join you
Oh if it were only so simple I'd up sticks in a minute and leave .... reality check required here because I suppose it really could be that simple if we all just stopped overthinking everything.

G'day Terry,
Well done mate, I can relate to those sentiments too! Can't seem to do anything these days without a computer being involved somewhere.
God help us if someone turns the power off!
But at least a few of your lines took me to a better place for a while when reading!
Cheers
Ron.

Oh yes, Terry, I can relate to this too... And I love this: "And I’ve even read instructions too – but God knows what they meant"...that is me all over, ha! Technology is often a double-edged sword, and being asked for passwords for every single little thing is a real pain, as I've recently experienced yet again! The simple things in life are always the best, and you've hit that particular nail on the head here!
