Stephen actually wrote this poem after Catherine made a comment while we were having fun with poems based on descriptive place names in Australia ... see earlier posts from a week or two ago (Dunedoo, Nevertire, Blowhard, etc ... )

She mentioned it would be hard to top this particular NZ place name ... and of course, Stephen couldn’t resist

I enjoy reading word plays. I think that poetry is, to a great extent about word plays.

There is, of course, no such New Zealand town as Waikikamukau. It is a generic name similar to the Australian remote place of Woop Woop or the famous Black Stump.
