New Forum Section?

Post by manfredvijars » Fri Apr 17, 2015 1:58 pm

Was wondering if we should create a new Forum section for Lyric writers?
Seem to have been churning out a few lyrics of late and been posting them in the Member's section.
Was wondering if we should have a lyric section?

Thoughts??

can't do any harm, besides, the lyrics generally meet the criteria of rhyme, rhythm and meter (or is that metre?)

seriously though, good idea. I've posted a few lyrics here over the journey so it'd be good to give it its own space.

Makes sense to me - lyrics seem to be a natural extension.
Even fiddled around with a couple myself - enjoyed having a go at it as well.

Good idea, especially if it has some idea of the tune used.

That's kind of you to say, thanks Matt ... :)

Good question. I think a true lyric has it's own harmonic within the words -
not always heard with the ear. Those creations can reach symbiosis and endure.
Unfortunately, much music is a churn, lyrics and melody cobbled together for a deadline.
Sadly, often the result is a marriage of hackneyed melody or cliched lyric - or both.
(even though the creator is convinced otherwise). The result that the majority of songs simply,
fall apart or 'rise without trace' ...
