Your place or mine?
Another true tale from the front seat of the cab.
It so happens that I live in Bracken Ridge.
Cabman: Good morning Miss, where would you like to go?
Miss: Your place at Bracken Ridge.
Cabman: (stunned) I'm sorry. Where?
Miss: Your place.
Cabman: At Bracken Ridge?
Miss: That's right.
Cabman: Do I know you, Miss?
Miss: No, I don't think so.
Cabman: ...but you want to go to my place at Bracken Ridge?. Do you know my kids, perhaps?
Miss. (Incredulous) What? Look, all I want to do is go to your place OKAY?
Cabman: Why would you want to go to my place? I don't understand.
Miss: Not MY PLACE! Your place. Y..O..R..E...P..L..A..C..E!!! DO YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS OR NOT?
Cabman: Ahhhhhhhh........
A short explanation later had us both giggling.
A poem will follow in due course.
