'REINCARNATION' W/ending 17-04-14

..on the subject of 'Immortality'............ :?

‘Reincarnation’
©2013 Glenny Palmer

If I could have ‘another go’
I wouldn’t have to ask; I’d know
I wouldn’t have to wrack me brain
to figure how to ease the strain
of stretching pennies into quids
I’d have a dozen flamin’ kids
and Centrelink could pay their way
and I could have a holiday.

If I could have ‘another go’
I’d get me tenner back, you know
the one I lent to bloody Dick
who only stayed one night, the…sod
I’d get me hubby back and then
divorce the blighter once again
but this time use his dirty tricks
to get me house back, in the sticks.

If I could have ‘another go’
a wealthy bloke is who I’d show
me skill at draining bank accounts
accruing for meself amounts
I never in me wildest dreams
imagined I could use for schemes
to make meself a fancy tart
(you know the sort, they never… faux pas)

If I could have ‘another go’
me attributes would be on show
I wouldn’t be as near refined
as wot I am, I’d be inclined
to shorten up me patchwork skirt
and ditch me corsets (and me shirt)
I’d reincarnate admirably
cos I’d come back as bloody ME!
The purpose of my life is to serve as a warning to others.

OMG Glenny you're hard enough to handle now  I don't think the reincarnation of the other you is a good idea at all

By the way you should have married Rod - it rhymes better with sod

Tell you what, Glenny. I'm thinking of coming back as Marlon Brando in The Wild One. What say our alter egos get together, eh? (Not sure about those 12 kids, though!)

Well David...I wouldn't have them yet would I? And I'd only be ordinary me....Don't think Marlon would be enthused...unless I changed me mind & came back as Marilyn...(that could work...but probly end up with 24 kids.. :? )

Wot if you come back as a crow ??

Just to be my usual pedantic annoyance  reincarnation is not really the same concept as immortality. Immortality means undying, whereas reincarnation means dying and reliving in another form and maybe many times, as the Hindus have it. And just to complicate things, the concept (or doctrine ) of the resurrection held by Christians, is different from both of the above.

Sorry Maureen, couldn't figure out how to do a homework poem on this.

Very nicely done little poem Glenny. Good to see that you are your usual whimsical self. ;) :)

G'daay Nevillle! I thunk you'd given me away. Now, good sir, if I continue ad-eternity to reincarnate, then I'd be immortal, eh? ;)

'whimsical'? gee I hope so. Ta again.
