TYELE

© Ross Magnay 17/10/13

My heart was broken yesterday, but not by games of love we play,
She is a pretty girl that I had never met before.
Her smile is fresh as summer rain, but she may never walk again,
for fate has dealt to her; a card she can’t ignore.
It seems some God by their decree; decided it should never be,
that Tyele would run or skip or dance.
Nor see the places others see, to be the person she would be,
and maybe never even know romance.

I wonder if some super power, is plotting for us hour by hour,
the fate each of us will be dealt.
Which pages of our lives are turned, which bridges of our lives are burned,
and which of our emotions will be felt.
And if there really is a God, just why that being would give the nod,
to punish innocence of youth.
While evil carries on unchecked, and lives and souls are daily wrecked,
So many just will not accept the truth.

Written from the heart I suspect Ross and all the better for it -sad story sensitively told. Well done.

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.

You found the way to write it Ross :)

She may not be the person she was going to be Ross, perhaps she will be someone stronger and more resilient. Sometimes a door closes but there is a window to jump through.

Certainly written from the heart Maureen, it really broke my heart to see such a pretty young girl bed bound for the rest of her life. She is able to have limited use of her arms and above, but that is it. Very sad and very unfair.

Well I found a way to get some of my feelings down Heather, not sure how technically correct it is, nor do I care that much. I sent it to her before I posted it and she gave it her blessing so that is good enough for me. As for her being a stronger person, I don't doubt for a second that she already is, of course I have no way of knowing that and I only saw her the once and that was for a short time, it did have an impact on me though.

You wouldn't be human if it didn't affect you Ross.

Rosco, how tender and heartfelt.
Phrases constructed to 'move' people, revealing the soul of a true Poet.
Well done Mate ... :D

Hi Ross,
These things are often very hard to write about,
you worry whether you have done justice to it.
Well Ross I reckon with your words the emotions and feelings,
are there for all to see.

G'day Terry and thanks, yeah like most blokes, well older ones anyway, we tend to not show any soft spots if we can avoid it, deep down we all know we have them but sometimes we are loathe to reveal them. I think Manfred may have been a bit generous about '...the soul of a true poet.' but I will accept it anyway, I am happy to express my feelings about it though... :D
