Interesting word.

Post by Neville Briggs » Tue Apr 09, 2013 11:44 am

I found this interesting word in the dictionary. Ogygian.

Ogygian means; of obscure antiquity. Prehistoric.

A bit like Bill Williams .

Interesting Neville.
And how would I pronounce it, if I chose to use such an interesting word?

What a lovely word that is :D

Ogygian, Ogygian. How I love your muddied waters
as they flow forever seawards
joined by all your sons and daughters
Ogygian, Ogygian. River of such majesty
you sure ain't the Mississippi
but your name's music to me

I think Marty has it Robyn. Amazing what they can learn up in the tropics. ;)

I'm a baby boomer William, can't seem to catch up with you. ;)

Beautiful Maureen. ;)

Bertrand Russell tells the story of a young man who was entranced by the wonderful word
" carminative ", he savoured its beauty and tone, he sent a letter to his girlfriend and described the carminative quality of his love for her. Then he looked it up in the dictionary and discovered that it meant " curing flatulence " :o
