Our Swannie sometimes buggers up his economic sums,
resulting in some grumbles, but that’s only flappin’ gums.
The Poms have trimmed their hedge funds, and they’ve also hedged their bets,
but now they’re whingin’ loudly havin’ racked up massive debts.

With one eye on Slovenia, in case its bank funds falter,
the Euro-zone is nervous with the other eye on Malta.
An olive branch for Italy and Spain could do no harm,
unless they take the other path, and once more Greece their palm.

It’s all enough to make affluent Germans whinge and wine;
the Cypriots have got the shits, just hear that Cyprus pine.
But there's only one GFC that’s worrying to me . . .
It’s Easter Monday, versus Hawthorn at the MCG.

Hi Marty,
Yea that covers it pretty well.

As much as I'd like to see Gold Coat win, I can't see it happening - but they will be very good in the near future.
Mind you I tipped the Eagles last week and they got flogged.

Ogden Nash wrote one on Cyprus that starts...

There's a Cyprus citrus surplus
Citrus surplus Cypriotic
No Sicilian citrus surplus
But a Cyprus citrus surplus. ( he goes on like that for 28 lines  )

Hi again Marty,
Getting my footy clubs mixed up aren't I; Hawthorn play Geelong don't they, should be a good game.

Yes, Terry - Hawthorn and Geelong usually is a cracker.
Although the Gold Coast did have a win last night.

That Ogden Nash poem is one hell of a tongue twitster Nev - I'll have to have a look at its entirety.

And I'll take that compliment Matt ;) my perspective has been called far more derogatory things than a "wry prism" before.

Thanks all,

Marty
