Have a safe trip David. Watch out that a big branch from that gum doesn't land on your tent.

Oh Neville, you're such a pessimist!
Sounds grand Dave. Have a loverly time.

Psst, by the way, I never camp under trees!

Onya Dave . . . but don't cocoon yourself in that tent at night . . . you'll miss that glorious Chillagoe star show!
Enjoy your break, mate.

Heather gum trees are notorious for shedding large branches as a few campers have found out.

They found out did they Neville? Did they live to tell the tale?
'specially those red gums Neville. Never camp under a red gum, they drop branches or even break in half just because....

Have fun Dave -
You can't make a bushman stay in city lights.
‘cause he misses open plains and starry nights.
This bushman comes from out near Chillagoe,
somewhere where those outback rivers flow
far away from rush and city sights.
He needs to feel the cool wind in his face,
to push a mob of sheep up through the race,
to tail the cattle walking down the track
and never have the need to watch his back.
Country fills his soul with sheer delight

Some haven't.
I think Dave meant to say, under the shade of a coolibah tree.

Re: Head'n bush
Have a good trip Dave.
When you are out in the bush you feel wild and free
but take care not to set up camp under a tree.
For those big gums shed branches as many will know
the outer limbs weaken as the tree seems to grow.
One good breeze is enough for one to dislodge
and when your asleep there is no chance to dodge.
So find a nice camp spot in a big open acre
and stay well away form the old widow- maker.
Off to do another show ( Break a Leg )
Hi Ho Silver awaaaaaaaaaaay

The purpose in life is to have fun.

I have red gums here and they are notorious. (Good word that, notorious!) I recall a young Scout being killed at a camp that my child had attended (not at the same time thank goodness). A Coolibah tree might be safer Dave.
Oh, Neville, see what you've done now. You've gone and made everyone really sad...
