Dr. Joseph Salemi

Post by Dennis N O'Brien » Sat Sep 01, 2012 6:50 pm

With the dearth of formalist poetry compared to the free verse post modern
avalanche it's refreshing to find someone who champions poetry with metre
and rhyme.
Dr. Joseph Salemi, a professor in New York, writes some great stuff
(not exactly bush poetry but if he turned his hand to it look out).

I've been reading his essays and poetry for some time and find his stuff very entertaining
although he might not be to everyone's taste.

Anyway, here's the link below and just google Joseph Salemi Poet to find other poems and essays on the net.

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.

Yes - he doesn't pull any punches and consequently gets a lot of
flak from the poetry establishment in the states but he is a brilliant poet.
Being right wing he naturally has a lot of professional enemies.

I find his essays very good although I don't agree with quite everything he says.
