NATURAL ORGANICS
A clumsy old farmer from Bullamakanker
dropped his false teeth in the co-op's milk tanker.
His faithful old denture
had lovely live culture,
so organic yoghurt was set when they drank 'er.

Not as bad as a rubber boot in the bottom of the vat (not ours) - it's a long story.

Re: Natural Organics
Thanks for the replies. Stephen, Dennis..It's pure invention of course.
Maureen. Maryboy..it's not really about yoghurt
, it was meant to be about writing limericks.
I think limericks are a good way to practice and develop poetry writing skills. They are sort of the haiku of rhyme and metre, the still life of the poetry novice.
A lot of the elements for poetry are there in a small format. A rhyming scheme, a metric structure, characterisation and a sort of envoi or twist at the end.
Should we have a section for limericks in bush poetry comps.
Could be a bit risky, too enticing for the ribald versifiers.
