Thanks ladies. I really have no idea of what is going on other than there will be a spill - Monday is it? I don't know if Kev is going on ad nauseam about votes but I do know it's the sort of thing he would do. :) Goes to show just how predictable they all are!

Some times I am so glad I don't have a tv and when the radio goes on and on I put some music on. The world still turns! ;)

Both very good. :) Since I'm a newcomer here I've been scanning through the poetry to get a feel for what's acceptable and what's not and I'm glad to see that you don't mind a bit of political satire as I've written a fair bit of it, actually in a similar vein to yours. I guess there are people of all political persuasions here so I suppose someone is going to get upset no matter which way the poem goes.

Thanks Dennis. Both written with tongue firmly in my cheek! Poets have been doing satire for many years -I think it's a poet's task in life to record the goings on of our world. I love some of Henry Lawson's satirical poems and i think Henry Kendall was another that did them well. The trouble is that political satire dates - when we now read Kendall it needs an explanation of the characters and events.

Very true. Still I do have one or two about Julia and Kev and since I think their use by dates are getting a little close (the poems and Julia and Kev) I may post them before people have to get into the history books to find out who they were / are. I think the poems may be still relevant maybe with a little tweeking so I might start tweeking (don't worry they are pretty tame). ;)
By the way could you tell me which is the best or appropriate forum to post poems on? Is there some sort of protocol as to whether to put them on the members or the other forum or both for that matter - don't want to rock the boat without knowing it - thanks.

It's a big boat. It can handle a little rocking! ;)
