Spare a thought,

and this could explain why I am so placid. We moved house 24 times in 34 years. Anyone beat that?

I told him that the next time I move I'll be in the box. We have been in this house now since September 2005. The longest we have stayed put was about 11 years. That house we sold to our first daughter and her husband. They knocked it down and built a lovely modern house on the block which, by the way, is about one suburban block from the beach.

Now if I stand on my tippy toes on one certain spot on my front patio, I have sea glimpses. We are about 4 or 5 blocks from the beach and about 3 metres above sea level. The projections pf the doom sayers show the water levels increasing all over our suburb. But I am on a little hill. Don't think I'll see it. My other daughter bought even further away from the sea. She is at about 10 metres above current sea level. They tell us there is - on the escarpment ( which looms over the whole area) high above all the houses. (Like about 20 metres above our heads) evidence of an ancient tsunami. If one like that hits, we'll all be history.

Gee aren't I a happy little soul tonight. All the best with the move Glenny. Every time we move I think I de-clutter but come next move there is still mountains of it to shift. Garage sales are good. Good night!

We've lived in the same house since 1981 - though we did move out for six months in 1988 while the extension was being built. Clutter? Yes.

Dave Delaney....so where the bloody hell are you? You've got til Monday to get here Mate, & you look like a pretty good muscled up bloke....AND with experience!! Tell me, do you have a full set of top teeth? I ask because every furniture removalist I ever engaged only had one tooth in the front of his head....& arms that could scratch his knee-caps without bending.?? (Must be the competition was tough.)

Can't wait to see the 'Kooralbin' go!

Most of our moves have been financially beneficial. So I don't complain. Trouble is Wayne's Mum had the 'Gypsy' gene and unfortunately she passed it on. I really like the layout of this house we are in now. You see, We were looking for a place to buy and I saw this one in the paper. I don't know where 'the boss' was but I went and looked at the place and decided. The agent was most apologetic and even said that some people took one look from the car and said 'No Thanks' without even going inside.

It is a two bedroom house with a grannie flat attached. The ceilings are high and the rooms are large. There is a six foot wide hall way down the middle. There is an archway leading from the hall to the lounge and also an archway connecting the dining room to the lounge. So we have an open plan space. The grannie flat has become the bosses work shop. We love the area. It is on a big block and the area has recently been rezoned for three story buildings. We are so close to the railway station it would suit commuters to Sydney. All in all, a good inheritance for the kids. I don't feel so guilty spending some of our super when I know the potential. The back yard faces north so it is great for growing veggies. There was a low Privet Hedge along the front which we pulled out and now I have roses. Who knows what the future will bring but for now I'm staying put.

The clue is a movers trolly. It is amazing what you can do with one.They even have one with a three wheel set up that goes up stairs.

G'day Zondrae.....erhm!!..those 3 wheel trolleys are only good for one thing, as you said going up & down stairs, forget about manoeuvring around corners etc. I'd stick to the single axel one's..
