Weight distribution

Post by warooa » Thu Jun 30, 2011 2:08 pm

Ahh, a drizzly day . . . what better time for a big of sonnetty doggerel.

Jeff says . . .

"Weight distribution's important . . . when packin' ya travellin' load",
but drivin' south, the coastal views are on only one side o' the road.
It's a delicate sorta issue, Jeff's smart enough to know
around this little conundrum, he must tread upon tip o' toe.

Cos Jeff's only 4ft 10 . . . and 6 stone wringin' wet's what he weigh,
while his Missus . . . well, I think the term 'big-boned' is what they say.
She's been in a healthy paddock, but he counter-weights her rear;
on the roof-rack above the driver, with the spare and recovery gear.

But takin' those sweepin' left handers, he's thinkin' his wagon'll tip,
cos the Mother-in-law . . . who's twice the size, has come along for this trip.
He tried "Hey Beryl, you might be more comfy, dear . . sittin back 'ere behind me?"
But she thundered "You squirty little nincompoop! I wouldn't be able to see!!"

So Jeff - he saw no way around it . . . the alternatives all sounded worse,
so every other 200k's . . . he drove down the coast in reverse.

Marty (the Lions Den one} solution! Take the inland road no weight distribution problem and a liquid refreshment stop half way the Den and Mount Molloy. :P

TTFN 8-)
I Keep Trying

G'day Marty.

Back seat drivers.

What you need is injection seats. :D

A sonnet here a sonnet there.
Sonnets on the road full of flair,

A bouncy little poem.

You set the mood.

G'day Vic

The back seat a continuous injection of interjection that penetrates the eardrums and needles the driver.

Your concentration is shot;eyeballs spin around like out of control red veined Catherine wheels.

Till,

Shaaaaaaaaaaaduuuuuuuuuuuuuuupp.

All is silent for 30 seconds...Until the next hit.

YeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeHa.

Got a good giggle mate, well done, even though it is not a traditional sonnet which has 10 syllables per line & normaly a ABAB, CDCD, EFEF, GG format if writing a basic Shakespearean style, there are many variants from the likes of Petrach, Yeats, Keats, Milton etc, but you did do the 14 lines. :D :D :D :D

The old bag of sand or a body for that matter in the boot really levels out the ride marty.
