Ahh, a drizzly day . . . what better time for a big of sonnetty doggerel.

Jeff says . . .

"Weight distribution's important . . . when packin' ya travellin' load",
but drivin' south, the coastal views are on only one side o' the road.
It's a delicate sorta issue, Jeff's smart enough to know
around this little conundrum, he must tread upon tip o' toe.

Cos Jeff's only 4ft 10 . . . and 6 stone wringin' wet's what he weigh,
while his Missus . . . well, I think the term 'big-boned' is what they say.
She's been in a healthy paddock, but he counter-weights her rear;
on the roof-rack above the driver, with the spare and recovery gear.

But takin' those sweepin' left handers, he's thinkin' his wagon'll tip,
cos the Mother-in-law . . . who's twice the size, has come along for this trip.
He tried "Hey Beryl, you might be more comfy, dear . . sittin back 'ere behind me?"
But she thundered "You squirty little nincompoop! I wouldn't be able to see!!"

So Jeff - he saw no way around it . . . the alternatives all sounded worse,
so every other 200k's . . . he drove down the coast in reverse.

Got a good giggle mate, well done, even though it is not a traditional sonnet which has 10 syllables per line & normaly a ABAB, CDCD, EFEF, GG format if writing a basic Shakespearean style, there are many variants from the likes of Petrach, Yeats, Keats, Milton etc, but you did do the 14 lines.
