Odd Jobs

Post by Bob Pacey » Tue Mar 01, 2011 5:24 pm

ODD JOBS

I've wandered round all through my life
yes of jobs I've had a lot.
But I never seemed to find the one
that fitted in the slot.

After school I joined a factory
making fruit juice all by hand.
But I found I couldn't concentrate
and eventually got canned.

Then I tried my hand at tailoring
making clothes that were just beaut.
But it was a sew-sew sort of job
and it really didn't suit.

I then went cooking at a restaurant
to add some spice when people dine.
But I had to quit after just one week
cause I couldn't find the thyme.

The bakery apprenticeship was kinda fun
though early starts were really slow.
But I couldn't last the four years
cause there wasn't enough dough.

Supermarket work was interesting
putting groceries on a rack.
But I didn't put much stock in it
and I finally got the sack.

Now I'm working cleaning swimming pools
things are great when its not raining.
But I think I might move on again
cause its getting pretty draining.

I think that I need to find a job
where I can live the life serene.
But I've found vacancies for millionaires
are few and bloody far between.

Or maybe a butcher " I could not get in for my chop" .

or How about a banker who could not budget ?

Perhaps this should have been in collaborations ?

What about fruit picking Bob? Your poem is peachy! Have you tried carpentry 'cause I reckon you hit the nail on the head!

Very clever Bob!
