Good deeds

Post by Heather » Fri May 20, 2011 6:24 pm

Well, I've done my good deed for the day. A little bird flew into my study window. I think it may be a Pardalote. Poor little thing was totally stunned and when I saw my little dog pick it up I thought I'd better rescue him. Put it in a shoe box for a while until it came good and then let if fly off. So pleased it made it. :D

Was it one of the Straited one's. I love their call. I had a family in the sand heap on the old block and they must have raised heaps of chicks. You are a good girl.

I should have taken more notice Bob. I don't think it was a spotted one. I don't think it was a honey eater. Need to do some looking up.

Nope, it was a dark bird with longer beak. Thinking that mabye it was a honey eater afterall - a little one.

G;day all,

We were sitting in the RSL after lunch at Sussex Inlet one time and a sweet little dove flew smack into the plate glass window and fell down dead (we thought), broken neck for sure (we thought). We sat there for a while, could have been an hour (the chook raffle was on) then a dog came sniffing around and suddenly the dove stirred, shook itself and off it flew.
Made for a real aaahhh! moment. (I thought, anyway)

morning Heather,

can't remember that one but I know it wouldn't have been me. I'm not a very lucky person but my husband is. Wayne has a kind of Midas touch. He could sell the opera house to a tourist if he wanted to. There have not been many things in life that haven't worked out to his advantage some way or other. (illness excluded of course ). I just thought of another comparison; Rumplestilskin (?) - the one who spun straw into gold. (but the good looking version not the ugly gnome you see in the kids books.) mmm oh yes the chook raffle no, I don't remember.
