John that's enough to put you off flying for life. Enjoyed your yarn though.

I was coming back from Vanuatu last October when we hit severe turbulence - well, I thought it was severe. The pilot had to get permission to descend to a lower level but in order to do so we had to descend through the jetstream causing the turbulence. The whole plane shuddered and creaked as we plunged from 33000ft to 28000ft in what seemed like a matter of minutes. I thought the plane would shake to bits and I've never been so scared in all my life. Not keen to do that again.

G'day, Maureen, Bob, Glenny and Heather.

No! I'll swear on a carton of Coopers Pale Ale, this story is true.

I'l swear by this story. Well I did exaggerate.

In my younger days I was a pretty good bowler. I won the clubs singles championship etc.

We had a group of bowlers that flew around the country. 'The Flying Ants'
Yes, I doooo luv writing stories. I hope you enjoy them.
Hmm... I may have made a mistake. The city may have been somewhere else.

Come to think of it; it could have been, Collarenebri, NSW. We flew everywhere, The Ants flew up and down the east coast. :D

This is the story.

The true and simple story. :D True, true, true.

We flew in early Saturday morning.
Spent the weekend playing bowls and destroying ourselves: encouraged by the local hospitality.
Time to leave.
We arrived at the airfield departure lounge. Yep. we were in great spirits (half pissed). UNTIL.

the OFFICER IN CHARGE of the terminal approached us as a group and said.

'Er...hum, due to temperature (bloody hot) your bowls and luggage has been offloaded and will be onloaded to the next flight.

Hmm... we queried. Why?

The solumn reply was: 'Well, we have a short runway, the airfield is situated on a mesa, the air is thin, and for the airplane to obtain enough lift to take off, the deadweight has to be .........kilograms.

Dead silence.

With that. The chap said 'Would you please board your flight.'

So with trepidation we all boarded the plane.

The description of the plane taking of is unreservably true. :D We were all scared to death.

Regards,

John

Mate all our bent bananas were blown to buggery when we were sat on by a big fat Yasi. I reckon a few farmers around Coffs Harbour'd be laughin'!

Marty,

Hmm... Banana's in Woolie's last week were $12.99 a kilo. :geek:

How much are they in your neck of the woods?

Do you know that banana's are the oldest fruit in the world?

With G-warming, banana's plants are going to be the first fruit to go Kaput.

So, QL's will have to bend something else.

How about Pineapple Benders. snigger, snuff, snigger, snigger.

I reckon cockroaches will survive any global warming !!! Hey hang on canetoads eat cockroaches.

oh John we have already been down the banana track $ 12.84 a kilo still. I was a supermarket supervisor for 15 years and we would never have tried to sell them for that sort of price.
