Or the Opposite?

Post by Stephen Whiteside » Mon Nov 07, 2016 6:45 pm

Or the Opposite?

The old dog pacing round the yard
Is vexed about its credit card.
The cat upon the window sill
Is troubled by its power bill.
The little bird is anxious lest
The bank should repossess its nest.
The termite colony has found
it can't meet payments on its mound.

I am just a humble man.
I take each moment as I can.
I have no need for vulgar cash.
It makes me break out in a rash.
I fly the sky, I wine and dine,
With no thought for the bottom line.
Why can't the birds and beasties be
Like me - footloose and fancy free?
