If anyone is interested , the ABC is running a series of short films on ABC 1 TV just 10 minutes before the 7pm news, each day next week.

They were on last week and they are called The Lost Tools of Henry Hoke.

I thought it might appeal to bush poets, as it refers to most of the old bush jokes and tall tales.
Henry Hoke is a famous bush mechanic from Hokes Bluff, who has invented all sorts of wonderful things such as pointless nails, striped paint, left handed screwdrivers, a camera that works on ionised bulldust etc, and he has constructed the most reliable long weight. His memory is related by some who knew him such as his neighbour Ethel Malley and so on.

We know that the gags are ancient with whiskers on their whiskers, but it's very well done as a sot of nostalgia trip, with some prominent actors doing it all dead pan and narrated by Bryan Dawe.

Worth a look.

thanks Nev I love that sort of thing I can remember watching one on a bush mechanic who still ran his garage even though he was almost blind . wonderful aussie characters. might be on abc on demand will have a look.

All the past shows are on abc on demand Nev a good watch not nearly long enough.

I see Bob that Henry Hoke had the footy all worked out with trigonometry and Euclidian geometry,
and a bottle of suspension of disbelief. makes sense.
