G'day Neil,

A prayer for your boy and another for my own. My son was standing next to a lad who was electrocuted at work when he was just 16. My heart still goes flip flop when I remember it. My son is fine and healthy and at 37 about to become a father. I am sure the other lad's parents still grieve. I wrote 'On a Lost Son' which is posted in my Index of poems.

Strength and hope to you and his mother.
May the Lord guide the healers and bless your son with restored health.

Just to say a BIG Thank you to you all for your kind words and support. Joel is back home and has defied the odds and has no paralysis even though he went within a whisker of severing his spinal chord in his neck. It is going to be a long road from here as he is still fighting off infection and is being treated daily by home nursing, bless them, who change his IV and change his dressings etc. Counselling starts next week but still a way off any Physio yet util he can at least shed the brace and finished his 3 months antibiotics. A long haul, as I said, and a lot of support for a long time, so my Bush Poetry performances will have to be shelved to some degree for a while, but that is irrelevant.

Again, thank you all. By some miracle, not only is he still alive, but physically he will make a pretty decent recovery in time.

Neil
