Homework prompts for week ending 21st April 2014

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Mon Apr 07, 2014 8:54 am

Well last fortnights prompts certainly saw some great poems emerge - the old Cobb and Co stagecoach saw a few of you take up the challenge and you delivered some great pieces.

Hope everyone has had a little rain at least - our country cousins have as it has been widespread but as is normal with natures whims and fancies some have still missed out - not under the right cloud as we used to say. Very disheartening though when the neighbour 'just up the road' gets rained upon and your place is dry as a dead dingoes donger.

So lets see what you can do with these - and yes they are a little bit themed, but then again a clever poet can use them in many ways, and whilst they might seem a bit 'blokey' there's many a female to whom these prompts would be totally familiar.

Velocity

Hey/Hay drive

wheel ruts and bull dust

Turbo charged

wheel braces and wallaby jacks

lonely roads

and then just to add a bit of interest you might like to be inspired by a picture of a mate's truck and a Mundrabilla sunrise. Go to it my poetic wordsmiths

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.
