I figured a lot of poets and writers have a story like mine, David. My antennae do get quite a few stares...or.....are they looking at me in a peculiar way, like I am mad. :o

I actually have it figured out. The creative people are really the sane ones. It's the bland majority who are mad. ;)

I recently asked the bloke running the local coffee shop what he did before he took over the business a couple of months ago and he replied he was a funeral director! Now that slowed down the conversation!
What you do or did certainly can have a bearing on the conversation.

Something I found amusing.

At aged about 40, I was at a job interview and was asked by a much younger woman. "Were do you see yourself in 10 years time". I almost laughed out loud. I said " do you mean what do I want to be when I grow up?" I think I did laugh but then I said. "I am looking for a position that I can fulfil well and enjoy enough to stay in til I am old enough to retire,"

Oh didn't get the job. but I did find something much better and closer to home.
