First Marty is the teacher single

Sorry mate could not resist. Go for it if you can mate .

I feel this is one of the best feelings to finf that one of your poems had such a profound effect on someone. I remember a lady pulling me up in the street one day and telling me she cuts all my poems out of the paper and puts them in a folder to read again later. As you say gob smacked.

Good onya mate. And I concur with her sentiments.

Great news and you will have the opportunity to really make a difference to those kids when you get to meet with them.

Isn't that just the best result. Bet you are over the moon. :D

'Onya Marty,

Now dig out your Sunday best Driazabone and Akubra and take your blue cattle dog and be a 'real' bush poet. (Only kidding).
I know you will do a great job. Good for you.
I have had two teachers say they would love me to come to address their classes but had no follow up. So it didn't eventuate. Maybe they are waiting for me to contact them. I might try... but I don't want to seem like I'm begging. I have also given one of the local High schools several copies (different years) of the Bronze Swagman Anthology (ones I had poems in) but had no feedback. So if you can get a toe in the door, follow it up as much as you can.
