To my Mentor and dear friend,

Ever best wish that I could think of Vic, I didn't know it was your birthday on Friday or I would have expressed these wishes then.
I have been rather nose down and ... mm tail up with the judging for the Kembla Flame. Judging sorted so I can relax. So far, I have been delighted with the outcome of each competition that I have had a part in judging, because on finding out who the respective authors that match up with the numbers on the poem are, my assessment has turned up some of the best writers in Australia. Reassuring me that I do know a good poem when I see one.

This year's Kembla Flame is no different and on seeing the names of the top eight, there is not one strange name among them. It reads like a membership list of the ABPA. Results will be released on Sunday 14th at the Dapto Poets Breakfast.
