Be Careful

Post by Jasper Brush » Fri Jan 21, 2011 9:53 pm

G'day,

I clicked onto a site relating to stockings.

The site, though enjoyable, was a 'suck in' site for pornography.

It sent a worm into my computer that targeted any IE site that gave me automatic entry through a password; then targeted forums for new members.

I've been a member and on the staff of a poetry site for over eight years and the worm completely stuffed the site up for six hours.

I run McAfee Security (top of the range) as an anti-virus on my computer and it was useless. It was only when I brought into play my reserve anti virus 'Malwarebytes' that I nailed the bastards.

The worm was PUP with two extensions. Malwarebytes clobbered the worm and exterminated it.

So if you want good anti-malware software download 'Malwarebytes' it is free. Yep! you can download it for free.

Though, In my case, I paid about 20 bucks and upgraded to the super dooper version.

Just a thought.

I mentioned this because it my help some members if they get saddled with the same problem I had.

Regards to all.

I'm safe - never wear the darn things now I 'm not working and have never ever found them to be 'enjoyable'

Cheers

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.

Nah! :D

Now my face has gone red.

I popped up as I ambling through a few pages on the web.

The point is if I hadn't been alerted to what was going on all of this garbage would still be spewing out of my computer.

My anti-virus was useless.

If I hadn't had Malware software I would have been in a pickle.

I would have to taken my computer to a shop to be repaired or have had a technician call and fix it up.

Good bye.

I'm off.

I swear blind I will never-ever look at a shapely ankle again.

Even when I walk down the street I'm going to look up at the sky.

Never, ever again.

Never!

One time I had a motherboard with a name of “ePox” yes small “e” and capital “P”. I looked up this site for some motherboard drivers, well you can imagine all these things opened up took over the whole computer in the end I had to have it “Nuked” and reload all our stuff. Took a week you don’t want to go down that road.

You have a point there BW. I'll have to look where I'm going.

Hmmm... The motherboard name was a sort of a warning Dave.

I imagine with a name like that your computer was susceptible to the 'Black Plague' virus etc.

Yeah John

You’re right that computer and all its inherent problems are now in computer heaven, or is that just landfill?
