In the eye of the beholder

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Sat Jun 09, 2012 5:23 pm

Just sharing my first painting with you mob after two art lessons - took me a while to get started and a bit of poetic??? licence used in this painting - had to move the shearing shed - but pretty pleased with the result. Next week I paint (hopefully) the dogs

Here is my master piece

Wonderful painting for a first attempt Maureen!! I reckon if I painted for 12 months, I wouldn't achieve that result!!!

Well done.

That's great Maureen!

I really like it - is the scene a place near you?

They are Bob  - my sheep looked like blobs of cotton wool with matchstick legs - not at all up to scratch so left them out

Using a little poetic licence Wendy this was the view from the front verandah across to the shearing sheds at Springdale, but I had to move the shearing shed and the art teacher put in the bloody crows - I told her I would have shot them but she insisted 3 crows were what was required to finish it off. :? Didn't get the point that a rifle would have done a better job

Joking aside I am rather pleased with it and am planning to paint Mahalia and Anushka this week with Mahalia watching Anushka eat a bone. Two photos and photoshopped down to one - and planned to be about A3 size - In reality they have never met but two border collies together - my much loved girls I thought would be nice - if I can do them justice.

Fingers crossed., and thanks everyone for your encouragement. Drives me onwards.

Cheers

Maureen

"Mush" Girl, "Mush"

(I know, this terminology suits the cold country doggies)

But I'm sure you get the message.

Agreed Maureen,
I don't like the crows either.
