Discussion.

Post by Neville Briggs » Tue Apr 03, 2012 3:38 pm

Since we have been having vigorous discussion, I got a book out of the library that I thought would help with how to do proper discussion with good points, it was by Christopher DiCarlo, published in 2011 by Prometheus Books. It is called How to become a really Good PAIN IN THE ASS.
It was no good, I had to take it back, I already knew all that.

From Prometheus huh?? Can you give us some pointers then, before you assign the book to the underworld?

Actually it's a good book, how to reasonably discuss issues is an important skill, I reckon.

And I am sure it is a learned skill.
I refuse to listen to talkback radio because ( one reason among several ) the sample that I have heard, makes it painfully clear that so many Australian people are severely lacking in this skill.
And the scary thing is that these people vote in elections after supposedly being presented with " issues " to consider.

...I am on the same wave lenght as you here Neville.....I do believe though you should not restrict it to "Australian" people, I think perhaps it may go a bit deeper than that....
