Hi again Zondrae,

You’re right about polishing this poem for quite awhile, it was the first poem I ever wrote and also the first one I ever posted on the old forum.

I can still remember taking that first step and anxiously awaiting what sort of reception it would receive. I needn’t have worried, the kindness and generous encouragement I received from forum members including yourself and Ross in particular was really appreciated.

I realize now of course that at the time I knew nothing at all about metre and the poem was riddled with half rhymes. But this poem has always remained special to me, recently I decided to try and get it right once and for all.

I managed to make a quick visit to Tamworth, left Canberra Thursday returned on Saturday, I had hoped to meet you there, perhaps some other time. I only made it myself because of the generous help offered by Heather & Sue. (more about that later)

Cheers Terry

Thanks Nev been reworking some of my older poems and sticking them in. I might not always show it but I do listen and put things into practice.

My biggest problem is i get bored quickly.

Thanks again.

Thanks to all for the kind words, and congratulations again to Terry for a great poem. Sorry for letting the team down, Marty, but I'm trying (very, according to reports!).

Back to the drawing board...
David
