It is Raining!

It is raining, raining, raining.
I, for one, am not complaining,
With the water levels gaining
In the dams around the state.

There’s a constant ‘pitter patter’,
But I feel it doesn’t matter
If the puddles splash and spatter
And the traffic’s running late.

Oh, the lawn’s in need of mowing
With the gutters constant flowing,
And the garden plants are growing
At a most surprising rate,

For we’ve warm and humid weather,
So we stew in it together,
While all beasts of fur and feather
Hope the dampness will abate.

There are folk that beg for quarter
From the constant wall of water
That drops like shell or mortar
In a sheet from Heaven’s gate.

Yes, I know some think it tiring,
But I find it quite inspiring.
Let the storm clouds keep on firing!
It is raining, and it’s great!

Love it Stephen, love it! It was quite exciting to watch the rain last night - until we realised that it started to constitute a flood! Nothing like the power of water in a flood.
