Malanda Bush Poetry Challenge

Post by warooa » Tue Jul 12, 2011 6:40 am

This Sunday 17th July is the inaugural Malanda Bush Poetry Challenge to be held at the Malanda Hotel starting at noon.

Anyone in the vicinity who might be keen to have a go, there is a 3 minute limit and you just need to register before hand.

Being down in Cairns for the big AFL game on Saturday (Rich v Suns) I'll take the scenic route home via Malanda on Sunday and might even hedge my bets and have a crack at the pool comp as well (might improve my rhythm and metre?)

Maybe Kerry O'Brien should go along for some education in bush poetry reciting

Go easy on the bloke, Nev . . . he's just starting out, and he is a national treasure. But I reckon the crowd at Malanda will serve up a good show. David J Delaney lives just down the road . . . and Veronica Weal lives just up the road. :?:

Cheers, Marty

I'd probably be blue by the time I got there Marty. And probably need a bit more than floaties?

You missed ya chance Heather . . . I offered to swim through 15 crocodile-infested estuaries to scoop you out of the briny sea but nope . . . you couldn't leave Bobbo waiting :x :x

Malanda is too high for the tides anyway . . we'd need a tsunami and it's the wrong season for that sort of fun. :P

Bob . . . the final is next Wednesday in Cairns - I hope to catch up with Dave.
