I am starting to get excited about this show about the life and works of C. J. Dennis that I am doing with reciter Mac Craig on Tuesday, 14th May.

Mac and I really enjoyed ourselves at the Victorian Folk Music Club last night.

There was a good crowd of about 50 - 60, an open fire, a cosy room and a delicious supper. Floor spots ran from 8 till 9 with a good variety of poetry and song. Jim Smith's rendition of 'Macarthur's Fart' stays in the mind - as do all the acts, really.

Mac and I kicked off after a break at 9.15. We were asked to do a reprise of our double act at the Sunnyside Festival in Kallista last year. I made some minor changes to the script to accommodate some new information I had picked up since then, but otherwise it was the same show. We ran for about an hour.

Mac is a great guy to work with. He has an extraordinary memory, which rarely fails him, and he is very expressive as the 'Bloke'. Makes my job very easy.

It sounds like we picked up a couple of converts for the Toolangi/Sunnyside Festivals.

All in all, a great night.
