Binalong music and poetry open mic this Saturday

Post by Robyn » Wed May 13, 2015 9:14 pm

It is 150 years ago today that bushranger John Gilbert was shot dead by police just near Binalong. The incident was immortalised by Banjo Paterson in his poem How Gilbert Died.
Binalong will kick up its heels 1860s style this weekend, with a full program of activities to re-create the drama and excitement of May 13, 1865. One of these activities is the Open Mic poetry and music, two hours of traditional entertainment, 11am-1pm.
If you'd like to come, let me know and I'll put your name down. Or just sign up on the day.
I realise a lot of you live way too far away, but there may be some travelling through who would like to spend some time in Banjo Paterson country.
If you'd like more info, just let me know.
Robyn Sykes, the Binalong Bard.
