Boyup Brook Festival

The Boyup brook Festival was held over 4 days and ended on Sunday.
A Poets Breakfast was held on the Thursday, Saturday and Sunday by the WA Bush Poets and a midday Poets in the Park session was held on Friday, all were well attended with Sunday drawing a crowd of about 1200.
We also had Marco & Murray Hartman (Muzz) as guest artist this year and they were terrific.

Why was the poetry event held at midday on the Friday, Terry? Did somebody burn the toast?

Hi Stephen,
I think there's two reasons.

The first is that all the poets attend the an early Friday morning show at Harvey Dickson's which features our eastern Australian Poets along with various country music performers. It's quite an iconic venue as anyone who's been there will verify.

The second I suspect is to give the public that like a bit of a lay in, a chance to see the poets in action. It's held right in the middle of town and is always very well attended.

As mentioned before all poetry performances were once again very well attended.

Something that might have been of interest to you Stephen was that a farmer performed 'The Old Master' then later invited a few of us out to his farm where he yoked up his Bullock team and put them through their paces. And to show that our ladies are a game bunch they helped unyoke them.

Cheers Terry
