GOSFORD BUSH POETS

Good Morning Everyone,

What a brilliant night last night! Could not have wished for a more fitting finale to our 2013 season than the one we enjoyed last evening at the Gosford Hotel when the fabulous Gosford Bush Poets assembled to finish the year, welcome in the festive season and share a little (well actually a lot) of Christmas cheer.

A great crowd and it was extremely pleasing to see a number of old mates who have not been able to attend as often as they, and we, would have liked over recent times and to welcome a number of new faces to the GBPs. George May of Patonga, who has been promising to visit us for some time, was finally able to join us and what a pleasure it was to listen to George play and sing. Hope you hurry back in the new year George.

During the evening we heard from: June Hilton; Jill Nevile; Fran Bush; Norman Allan; Bob Ryder; Shirley Ryder; Chris Kessey; Ken Tough; Peter Shalless; George May; Jan Lock; Nick Lock and Peter Mace. Excellent poetry from all and great songs from George and our resident tenor Nick Lock who pleaded for "some treacle on his pudding."

Bob Skelton (@ The Minmi Magster) then took the floor and entertained us all with his very own wonderful poetry and many interesting yarns. Bob is a consummate performer and had us all thoroughly engrossed with his blend of tall tales and original poetry. A marvelous raconteur and bush poet and we hope Bob is able to return to the GBPs in the new year!

A big thank you to our catering staff, Anita and Helen as well as a thank you to Claire and Trish
for their tasty contributions to the groaning table.

It has been a great year and on behalf of Peter and Anita, Helen and myself we wish you all a very Merry and Safe Christmas and look forward to seeing you at the Gosford Hotel at 7pm on the last Wednesday night of January 2014.

Very Best Regards,

Vic Jefferies
