NATIONAL CHERRY FESTIVAL 2011
BUSH POETS COMPETITION
7.30 pm instanter 3rd DECEMBER
AT THE YOUNG GOLF CLUB.

THERE WILL BE TWO SECTIONS : 1 – SERIOUS (Traditional, Contemporary, Original).
2 – LIGHTHEARTED (Traditional, Contemporary, Original).
PRIZE MONEY - $400, $200, $150, 5 x $50 Merit Awards. PLUS – The winner and runner-up of each section will receive a petrol voucher. PLUS – the Overall Champion will receive a 5kg. box of cherries, courtesy of J.A.& M.P. Wark, “Tyronne Orchards”, Young.
The overall winners will be decided by an aggregate total of both sections.
The judging panel will consist of three locals, who are not part of the Bush Poetry scene.
This competition is limited to TWELVE entrants only.
There is no entry fee.
Each participant will receive two free entry tickets to the Saturday night competition.
We request a time limit of eight (8) minutes, including preamble, for each poem, so the night will end at a reasonable hour.
A draw for positions of each section will be held a week from the competition, of which you will be informed. This will be done by the judges.
Would you please include your choice of poems and if there is a clash, then the first one in will have their selection.
The Sunday morning Poets Breakfast will be held at Anderson Park as part of the IGA Big Breakfast, at a cost of $5 per head.
