Village Festival 2011

A kaleidoscope of colour
Soft music all can share.
The Village Festival is on again
an experience oh so rare.

Jazz bands to take your fancy,
Dancing girls they swing and sway.
Food to tempt your taste buds
All on tap both night and day.

Kids out there making music
Dancing ribbons, kites to fly;
Recycled cloths and pottery
Something’s sure to catch your eye.

All the stalls decked out with streamers
Mobiles, dresses, hats to wear.
Acrobats and jugglers all abound
Music wafts upon the air.

Bush poets share their musings
At the campfire, round a log.
Party goers from the night before
Stagger through the morning fog.

And the people are so friendly
Happiness their one reward.
Local talent, national stars
They all blend in fine accord.

So come and join the party
It’s atmosphere will make you swoon.
The experience of a lifetime
The Village Festival in Yeppoon.

Sounds like a great fun place to be. Your words make the reader eager to join in - would be a great advertisement for it in your local rag, it swings along.

Typo in there Bob should be tempt

Cheers

Thanks Maureen already sent it in so better fix the typo and resend. I'm hopeful of doing it live on the abc next week as the organisers love it so might get a few more people at the breakfast than last year.
