Cherry Festival results

Post by Robyn » Sun Dec 04, 2011 9:34 pm

Great night at Young on Saturday night. Unfortunately Frank Daniel had to pull out at short notice, but luckily John Peel had come to watch and was able to step into the breach superbly!

The results, as I recall, were:
Overall Champion: Max Jarrott
1st serious: John Peel
2nd serious: Max Jarrott
1st light hearted: Max Jarrott
2nd light-hearted: Robyn Sykes
HC: Gary Lowe, Des Kelly, Alex Allitt, John Davis

I also have to say it was great to have Sue Pearce there, as it was left to the two of us to hold up the ladies end.
And being the cherry festival, there were delicious consolation prizes of boxes of cherries!
Robyn Sykes, the Binalong Bard.

G'day Rpbyn,

Congratulations on your success at the Young Cherry Festival. Thank you for posting results. There are often events where we don't hear what happened.

Well done Sue for performing at the Young event and helping Robyn to represent the lady poets. Won't be long and you will be a veteran performer and giving the 'big boys' a run for the money.

Thank you Zondrae and thanks Robyn for posting the results. My photos didn't come out very well so if anyone else who was there on the night has a group photo you might like to post it. As Robyn said, it was a great night and the level of competition was of a very high standard, glad I wasn't judging. Congratulations to John and Robyn on a superb performance.
The poets breakfast held on Sunday morning was also very well attended with the crowd enjoying a feast of Bush poetry. It was also great to see Young hosting a junior competition this year and boy, some talent there to watch out for in the future.

Cheers
Sue
