47 - Weather & Water

The world we live is complex
heat rain and snow,
120 in the shade or 25 below.
Extremes of mother nature,
we face them every day,
fire, drought, flooding rains,
so much blown away.

Whether it will, whether it won’t
we ponder along the way,
our lives are shaped by weather,
as we live work and play.
Highs, lows and heatwaves,
cyclonic storms and streams,
barometric pressures,
can be felt but never seen.

Some days are so perfect,
skies are clear and blue,
sun is warm and shining,
breezes flowing through.
Leaves are hanging gracefully,
changing at a glance,
responding to the pressures,
as they swing and sway in dance.

Wind unseen, invisible,
to the naked eye,
just air that’s in a hurry,
as it passes through the sky.
We see it pushing through the trees,
it gusts and howls with pace,
we see it shifting dust and sand,
so blinding in our face

Weather unpredictable,
pressures ebb and flow,
creating instability
as they wrap around a low.
Humidity is uncomfortable,
when drenched in perspiration,
a drop in atmospheric,
and a change is in the making.

Condensation forming,
moisture in supply,
cumulus clouds are building,
and are towering in the sky.
Storms amassing overhead,
the sky is turning grey,
thunder rolling angrily,
good rains’ on its way.

Raindrops on the rooftops,
and flooding all around,
rivers rising quickly,
there’s a shift to higher ground.
Water in abundance,
it’s out of our control,
weather gods are angry,
survival is our goal.
