31 - Waiting on a Woman

Waiting on a woman,
waiting on a wife,
a big part of a marriage,
and a huge part of your life.
Engagement is the answer,
a little, not too much,
learning how to give and take,
with just a gentle touch.

Home is where the heart is,
the centre of your life,
the magic of a marriage,
your best friend and your wife.
The bond is irresistible,
the draw, intense and deep,
there’s just no explanation,
it keeps you from your sleep.

We try to give them distance,
we have to give them space,
if not given everything,
we’re just not in the race.
At times we’re so forgetful,
we just don’t understand,
when we’re being thoughtful,
we’re thinking like a man.

Keep your cool, be patient,
don’t pace up and down,
learn to be consistent,
smile and never frown.
Try to be observant,
never disagree,
try to be the one she wants,
not one she wants to be.

It’s not until we’re older,
we start to see the light,
the answer has to be “yes dear”,
cause she is mostly right.
What you felt that moment,
what you saw that day,
has held you in amazement,
has never gone away.
