Paradise is Calling

10 - Paradise Is Calling

Paradise is calling, the deserts in your blood,
imbedded in your sole, your DNA.
The smell, the sound, the feeling,
and the hope of inland flood,
triggers your emotions, night and day,

Desert country born & bred, outback, isolation,
not your average childhood, on a massive inland station.
Skills learned, survival taught, trying situations,
knew no other way to live, second generation.

The desert land is constant, only people passing through,
time on country ended, had a calling.
Married, built a family, built a business, work was new,
climbing every day, no fear of falling.

Miles of work, many friends,
music filled our hearts,
pack the kids, guitar, another show.
Adelaide to Gympie, we had so many starts,
always looking forward, on the go.

Nomads on the wallaby, partners in life,
tripping around this great wide land.
Happy hour compulsory, staying out of strife,
four wheel drive, and a big flash van.

Every day a postcard, we made it in to Broome,
Cable Beach to walk, run and play.
Paradise is calling, watching stairway to the moon,
a thousand mile to get there, on our way.

Set up in the city, happy wife, happy life,
Cooper basin calling, shifting dirt.
Hat’n boots, excitement, kiss my darling wife,
FIFO in comfort, back to work.

Paradise is calling, the desert’s in your blood,
imbedded in your sole, your DNA.
the smell, the sound, the feeling,
and the hope of inland flood,
triggers your emotions, night and day.

The Outback certainly gets under your skin. We've found that on our travels!
