Music City’s Calling

8 - Music City’s Calling

Some souls live a life time,
looking for a spark,
looking for the magic,
but never make their mark.
One or two are gifted,
from the moment they appear,
their destiny is chosen,
on a course that they must steer.

On a journey that seems endless,
give guidance every day,
have patience with their passion,
and give help along the way.
And when it’s time for them to go,
when they feel the calling,
Show support, give them strength,
to meet their every morning.

‘82, was the year,
Jedd became our son,
music playing, house at Quorn,
signs were there from 1.
Pirie then came calling,
first song sung at 8,
right at home on a stage,
his next song, could not wait.

With cash from all his winnings,
he bought his first guitar,
practiced, playing day and night,
his game exceeding par.
To aid him on his journey,
and prepare with his next calling,
Tamworth was our chosen town,
to reset home and schooling.

TK made an offer,
with guitar in hand he strode,
touring around Australia,
in Taragos, on the road.
His chosen path unfolding
he had to chase his dreams,
to live and play in the USA
he quickly turned eighteen.

A one way flight to Nashville,
music city, Tennessee,
Cool guitars, cooler cars,
and all his stars to see.
Music City’s calling,
He knew he’d found his place
record deals, the Opry,
at last had found his space.

Some souls live a life time,
looking for a spark,
looking for the magic,
but never make their mark.
One or two are gifted,
from the moment they appear,
their destiny is chosen,
on a course that they must steer.

A good story, well told, Glen - and a true one it seems. Definitely has the personal touch.
