Nevertire

I can't resist continuing Stephen's theme of pondering on Australian localities with descriptive names! Nevertire is a small town in Western NSW, about 90 km northwest of Dubbo, at the junction of the Mitchell and Oxley Highways.

Nevertire
(c) Shelley Hansen 23/6/18

Do people tire at Nevertire
or work all night and day?
Do folk have beds at Nevertire
or throw them all away?

Do people yawn at Nevertire
or even close their eyes?
Or do they dance at Nevertire
till sunrise lights the skies?

Do roosters crow at Nevertire
if everyone's awake?
Do old folk snooze at Nevertire
or never take a break?

I might retire to Nevertire
when days of youth have gone,
'cos energy at Nevertire
will keep on keeping on!

Well done, Shelley! If I retired to Nevertire I think I might force a name change!

Very clever Shelley! I haven't been on here for about a week but I've signed into quite a treat today with these poems!

Hi Catherine ... missed you!

Just having a bit of fun generated by Stephen’s play on place names. :D

Yes, a lot of fun indeed - I've really enjoyed reading these... I'd love to see an attempt on the NZ town Waikikamukau (pronounced "Why kick a moo-cow")!
