My Doona Keeps on Slipping

My Doona Keeps on Slipping
My doona keeps on slipping.
It is not much good at gripping.
Come morning, it is lying in a heap.
My whole left side is freezing
Which is very far from pleasing,
And scarcely seems compatible with sleep.
I have tried a bunch of measures
To restore nocturnal pleasures,
But the ending always seems to be the same.
My doona keeps on sliding
In its constant ‘side to side’-ing,
And it seems to treat the whole thing as a game.
I’ve addressed with stern inflections
My bad doona – said directions
Must be followed to the letter, maybe more.
I can shout with whitened knuckles,
But my doona only chuckles
When I say I do not want it on the floor.
When your doona is rebelling,
There is not a way of telling
When next you’ll get another chance to dream.
I will not resort to boozing,
But you’ll know that I am losing
If sometime after dark you hear a scream!
