PIN IT .... Maureen Clifford © The #ScribblyBark Poet

A simple thing - a safety pin - gives out a message strong,
it signifies 'I'll stand with you' that message can't be wrong.
A racist taunt, a racist slur, a racist violation
unnecessary, impolite ....speaks volumes of a nation ,
beset by paranoia - believing all they read,
uncaring of the difficulties faced by those in need.
If anything destroys this world it will be racial taunts
insidious, and nasty - defiling familiar haunts.
We can stand by, do nothing - we can join in the rant,
but these feelings aren't shared by all. There are folks who just can't
turn their back on the suffering of others feeling pain.
A safety pin shows unity and shows racists disdain.

A little word LOVE but it is certainly the bonding agent for life for all mankind.

Doesn't really cost anything but the application of a little energy.

Have a great day Maureen.

Thanks Merv - my Mum taught all of her kids that a little love goes a long way, that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar and that if you can see a way to help don't wait to be asked just do it....and that today is still my mantra on life. :D

A great use for a marvelous little invention Maureen. My mother (and probably a great many others) used to say "See a pin - pick it up and all the day you'll have good luck." I asked her one day whether a safety pin would bring more luck than a straight pin. Can't remember her answer.
