The Man from Fanland.
Our young Larry loved the footy
though it turned his brain to putty;
really slushy, hot and mushy
for the thuggiest game of all.
Larry's weekends look so boring
sucking beer and caterwauling;
meatheads scoring, rabble roaring.
Oh the pity of it all.

Cheers Matt.
I'm not as lyrical and romantic as Bruce Dawe, who writes;
" Where do the old full-backs go
when their season's over at last and only the groundsman
wanders out onto the ground to the tiny cheering
of earthworms ? "
