TALE OF TWO CITIES

TALE OF TWO CITIES

The twin border townships lay nestled astride
the Murray, meandering twixt and between.
I nervously stand with a foot either side
surveying all that there is there to be seen.
Albury or Wodonga? So hard to decide,
when never to either have I ever been.

But settling north of the border for fear
my children be labelled 'those Mexican kids'
we've laid down our roots up in Albury here,
and proudly we 'Welshmen' are dipping our lids
to cousins who live just across the Hume Weir.
but be a Victorian - Heaven forbids.

Loving it here, Wazza. I might sing a different tune when I have experienced my first Albury / Wodonga winter

Not a racist, Neville - more of a realist.

As was I, Neville. The people down here are wonderfully friendly and engaging, despite which side of the border they live :D

Oh Bob

I am yet to experience how cold it gets here in winter, Bill, but I am assured it gets mighty hot for days on end in summer, so staying cool might be a challenge.
