THE ONE HUNDRED AND ELEVEN
I watched in total disbelief
as batsmen one by one
returned to the pavilion
within minutes one-one-one
Six-six-six, the Devil's number
Will be replaced for ever more
Sixty runs in one-one-one
Will now be called the Devil's score
They say that cricket is the game
the angels play in Heaven
But Hell can only best describe
The one hundred and eleven
For those who say 'Get over it,
It's only just a game'
Will never grasp the gravity
One-one-one minutes of shame.
