POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

I thought; if I looked I would see what was true.
If I reasoned then surely I'd understand too,
nothing could contradict what was just — there.
The evidence showed the reality clear.
O rebellious and stubborn of heart I had been,
truth was what they said; not what I'd seen.

reminds me of a work memo that I received which I queried and received the reply - we know that is what it says but that is not what it means - clear as mud

Oh Maureen, if I never see another office memo .... I had to go into hospital recently for a procedure and when I was booking in and being handed endless forms to fill in with totally absurd data, I politely enquired of the reception lady if perhaps Sir Humphrey Appleby was in charge of their hospital.
I also helpfully told the lady that if I had to go in again they should not compare the next lot of forms with those of that day, because the answers would probably be different.

Not Clive Palmer, Heather, I find him uninspired and uninspiring. It's one of my old crummy one's inspired by that wonderful novel 1984.

Hi Neville,
I can see you have been reading the same meaningless nonsense that I often seem to come across.

Very succinctly put Nev! The words social engineering seem to spring to mind. Think what you like as long as it's what we tell you to think!

And the scary thing Ron, that George Orwell identified, is not just that we should agree with what we are told but that we must come to believe it.
