There's a Walrus in the Study

Post by Stephen Whiteside » Thu Oct 31, 2013 6:36 am

There’s a Walrus in the Study

There's a walrus in the study.
There's a stingray in the sink.
There's a groper in the kitchen,
And the telly's on the blink.

There's an octopus beside me.
There's a flounder on the floor,
And lots of little rainbow fish
Are swimming through the door.

There's a dolphin near the ceiling.
There's a penguin on the porch.
There's one of those deep ocean fish
That carries its own torch.

Perhaps I've had a nightmare,
Or else I'm very drunk.
Holy cow! I get it now.
I think my houseboat's sunk.

I think these are great these little flights of whimsy you have, Stephen. From the experience of reading to my young kids, they love this sort of stuff. I reckon get yourself a good illustrator and knock out a few kids books. ;)

I know it throws the metre out but what about "Holy dugong" (the sea cow) ??
