Some things you just gotta let go Marty. Peace of mind is the result.

I think it's called mellowing and it always takes two to have an argument - took me a long time too Mate - but every day you get better and stronger.

Not everyone gets wiser as they get older Marty. Sometimes it's the past you have to let go, sometimes it is people. It takes a deep understanding of yourself to do that - you have to know who you are, know that you are worthy, love those that know you for who you are and disregard the rest. :)

I think Buddha would approve. :)

You've set yourself a big task to write on that theme.
And I hope things work out, public confession is a major step.

Just on the poetic side, just my opinion, I think that the sonnet form or the five stresses to a line ( pentameter ) is a better way to deal with that sort of subject.
Yours has a sort of four + three stresses per line, more like the ballad style which might prove to be a bit " bouncy'' for a solemn subject like ; forgiveness and reconciliation over longstanding issues.
The five stresses line (iambic or trochaic pentameter) tends to slow the pace, make a more reflective mood. Look at Shakespeare's plays and you can see what I mean.
" The quality of mercy is not strained
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven "
etc.....
Just some thoughts on style. take em or leave em. Meant for encouragement, I comment because I thought that the task you have set yourself here is worth doing.

But I could be wrong. ;)
